Holualoa, Hawaii

Moetic finally had the chance to capture a wedding in Hawaii.  We feel very blessed to get to travel as much as we do.  In fact, if it weren’t for the wonderful couples who love our films, we may not get the chance to visit some of the places we have.  So we feel privileged to get to work with so many great people.  Esther & Kenny are friends with a previous Moetic couple, Melissa & Eric , and when they watched their film they decided a wedding film was an important investment.

They contacted us back in October of 2012.  Esther was living in Vancouver at the time while Kenny was living in Dallas, and their family and friends were all over the place.  So Hawaii seemed like a fitting place to get married!  If your guests are going to be traveling anyways, why not go somewhere worth traveling too?  While getting to know them we found that much of their relationship was long distance, so we knew their wedding was going to be a special event.  It was going to be a time where all the important people in their lives were going to be in the same place, and that doesn’t happen often.

They got married at the beautiful Four Season’s resort Hualalai, on the Kona side of Hawaii’s big island.  The Kona side is interesting.  When you leave the airport and drive up the main highway you see nothing but lava rock as far as the eye can see, not what one might expect from Hawaii.  But Hualalai is tucked away in a nice lush area with beautiful beaches!  We had the opportunity to work again with Junshien & Sarah, photographers with Junshien International Photography.  They are great people and great photographers!  You can check out Esther & Kenny’s photography blog post here.

Laura and Matt got married at the beautiful Langdon Farms in Aurora Oregon.  While rain may be common during the month of August in Oregon, it didn’t phase the beautiful couple one bit; and when the sun finally burned through the clouds, it made for an amazing ceremony!

This wedding took us all over NYC from Westchester to Wall Street then Brooklyn. Michelle chose to get ready with her family in the house she grew up in, which made their day that much more special. We love seeing families come together at weddings :)

Michelle and Chris got married at the beautiful Brooklyn Botanic Gardens just outside of Manhattan.

We also had the privilege of working with photographer Brian Dorsey of Brian Dorsey Studios who got some great shots of Michelle and Chris.

On this day, Thi and Rob got married. We had a great time at our first Philadelphia wedding. It was months before however that we got to know Thi and Rob while filming a Love Story film for them. Their story is encouraging, and shows that sometimes to find true love you need to have the courage to pursue the girl!

Their day took place in the energetic downtown Philly, starting at the Hotel Palomar, followed by a beautiful photo session at a Japanese garden. They had their Ceremony and Reception at the Ballroom at the Ben.

We also had the chance to work along side Joe from JPG Photography which was a ton of fun.

Jamie and Matt got married on the most beautiful day in November in New York City. Nothing quite beats the rooftop view at the Cooper Square Hotel, and the beautiful Angel Orensanz Foundation was the perfect fit for their ceremony. Jamie and Matt were both so laid back and relaxed that at times we almost forgot we were in busy NYC!

Aletheia+Ken were married at Mt. Hood Bed and Breakfast just outside of Portland, Oregon. They enjoyed a morning bike ride and dealt with a bit of rain amid the beautiful fall Oregon sunshine. All that, mixed with their smiles, helped create an amazing story of their wedding day.

It was the day Hurricane Irene passed through New York and New Jersey, and that’s the day Laili and Paul celebrated their marriage.

Laili and Paul live in Switzerland, so we only had the chance to meet with Laili, along with Paul’s mother before their wedding.  We could tell right away that they were amazing people and that their wedding would be so much fun.  Little did we know that Hurricane Irene had plans on their wedding day, but NYC doesn’t slow down for anything, and neither did Laili and Paul.

We also had the privilege to shoot along side Jeff Tisman, which was a blast.  He had them posing in the middle of the street in front of dozens of NYC taxi cabs.

What an incredible day it was for Emily + Tanner. Their wedding took place at Alderbrook Resort, right on the Hood Canal in Washington and it was an amazing event. What stood out, aside from the beautiful couple and the beautiful venue, were the toasts. Their friends and family spoke with such authenticity about this couple, their love and caring attitude towards others. We had a blast creating their same day edit. Hope you enjoy.

On December 19th, we had the great privilege to work with Sarah Pease from Brilliant Event Planning and cover a live proposal!

Josh brought his beautiful girlfriend Mandy to see chef Guy Vaknin and learn how to make sushi! They were taking a trip to New York from Oklahoma City. Mandy thought that they were taking part in a private cooking class being filmed for TV. She had no idea that Josh would be proposing to her. Her answer: “Absolutely!”

It was very special being a part of that moment. Thanks to Brilliant Event Planning for making it happen!  Make sure to check out the amazing photos from Mariann over at blue daisy weddings!  And also thanks to Chef Guy and Tali Katz of Esprit Events and Catering.

Nina & Chris were married in Seattle on April 3. This is their wedding film.

The ceremony took place at Seattle First Presbyterian Church in downtown Seattle, and the reception was on the banks of Lake Union at Blue Ribbon Cooking. It was great to work with the crew at Lifebox Studio (photographers), who got some amazing images of the day.
